Doris Burrow

Doris Lewis Burrow, age 80, formerly of 1835 Pekin Road, Candor, NC died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care, Pinehurst, NC. Mrs. Burrow was born July 13, 1931 the daughter of Ernest Talmadge and Ola Burroughs Lewis. The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC and other times at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead with Rev. Wayne VunCannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Burrow was a native of Troy and retired after 38 years with Collins & Aikman. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and raising a vegetable garden for her family and to give to others. She was the consummate homemaker, raising and providing for her five children. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by: daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Michael Sechler of Charlotte, NC; son and his wife, Stephen and Denise Burrow of Kannapolis, NC; son: Curtis Burrow of Monroe, NC; son and his wife, Carl and Annette Burrow of Troy, NC; daughter: Sylvia Hurley of Troy, NC; grandchildren: Erich Sechler; Timothy, Tessa, Trevor Burrow; Adam and Caleb Burrow; Daniel and Corey Hurley; great grandchild, Caydence Burrow and one brother: Timothy Lewis of Troy, NC.
