Truett Woody

Truett Woody, age 77, of Blaine, NC died Satuirday, November 19, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. Mr. Woody was born July 13, 1934 in Spruce Pine, NC, the son of David and Cartha Greenlee Woody. He attended Calvary Gospel Church. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was in the mining industry for 34 years. He was a retired member of the Uwharrie Volunteer Fire Department and the West Montgomery Lions Club. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Woody of the home; two sons: William David Woody and wife, Gail of Troy, Michael Truett Woody and wife, Tina, also of Troy; grandchildren: Dylan Woody, Kady Woody, Hannah Woody and Abby Woody, all of Troy; two brothers: Todd Woody of Marion, NC, Richard Woody of Orlando, FL. The family will receive friends at the home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Calvary Gospel Churh, 6722 New Hope Road, Denton with Rev. Don Jarrell officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard, will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
