Stella Haywood Garner

Stella Haywood Garner, age 89, of 424 Green Oak Gap Road, Mt. Gilead died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Garner was born July 26, 1921 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of George Arthur Sr. and Wincie Blake Haywood. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy, a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corp. and a self-employed beautician. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Garner. She is survived by children: Linda G. Godwin of Mt. Gilead, Sandra G. Pineiro and husband, Francis of Fayetteville, Terry Garner and wife, Glenda of Mt. Gilead, Tammy Garner of Mt. Gilead, Randy Garner and wife, Tonya of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren: Annette, Melinda, Tonya, Eddie, Gina, Nan, Frankie, Kenny, Bobby, Reid, Colt, Stacy and Dana; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Trent, Dea, Dustin, Jessica, Jacquelyn, Danielle, Chris, Devon, Robert, Melissa, Lucia, Natalie, Dillon, Justin, Nick, Nathan, Nevaeh, David, Diego, Cheyenne and Dakota; great-great-grandchildren: Ethan, Reese and Noah. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 2 - 8 pm at Mrs. Garner's home, 424 Green Oak Gap Road, Mt. Gilead. There will be a riverside service held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Mrs. Garner's home with Dr. Phillips McRae officiating. Burial will be in the Haywood Family Cemetery, Chip Road, Mt. Gilead.
