Dorothy Chappell Maynor

Dorothy Chappell Maynor, age 84, of Autumn Care Of Biscoe, NC, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Mrs. Maynor was born April 18, 1926 in Rural Hall, NC, the daughter of Jesse and Susie Tuttle Kiger. Although born in Rural Hall, Mrs. Maynor lived the majority of her life in the Troy area. She was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church and former employee of Troy Drapery Corporation and Montgomery Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by husband, Elisha Chappell and sons, Tony and Joe "J.C." Chappell. She is survived by two daughters: Deloris Morse of Mt. Gilead, Marie Mauldin of Star; four sons: Tommy Chappell of Troy, Jimmy Chappell of Biscoe, Roney Chappell of Troy, Rev. Ricky Chappell of Sanford; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Jeff and Miranda Blake, 426 Poole Troy. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church, 691 Correll Road, Troy with Rev. Chip Bryant, Pastor Larry Beaver and Rev. Otis Goins officiating.
