Eva Walker Mason

Eva Walker Mason, age 95, of 520 Cox Street, Troy died Friday, June 4, 2010 at Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy. Mrs. Mason was born January 13, 1915 in Lexington, NC the daughter of Charles Paul and Bertha (Beauchamp) Walker. Mrs. Mason was a native of Davidson County and a member First Wesleyan Church of Troy. She was owner and operator of Mason's Grocery. In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Thomas Mason, son; Bruce Mason, grandson; Kenneth Mason and three sisters; Dorothy Morphis, Helen Ijames and Margarette Walker. She is survived by her daughter: Marie M. Sheppard and her husband, Paul of Troy, three sons: Paul T. Mason and his wife, Brenda of Mooresville, Rex Mason and his wife, Joyce of High Point, Jimmy Mason and his wife, Connie of Troy, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and four sisters: Selma Hamilton, Vera Everhart, Regina Burkhart, and Inez Beck all of Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC and other times at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134 North, Troy with Pastor Doug Beadle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
