Louise Clark Singleton, age 76, of Autumn Care Of Biscoe, formerly of Troy, died Friday, February 19, 2010 following an extended illness at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. Mrs. Singleton was born August 6, 1933 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Junius Raymond and Gladys (Maness) Clark. She was a graduate of Troy High School and attended King's Business College of Greensboro. She was a member of Forks of Little River Baptist Church where she served as church clerk, Sunday school teacher and in other various capacities. She was a member of the Western Square Dance Club and assisted in raising funds for the Heart Association. She was a former bookkeeper with 21 years of service at Central Lumber & Supply Co. and also a legal secretary. She is survived by her husband: Eugene "Gene" Singleton of the home; two sons: David Singleton of Greensboro, Tommy Singleton of Troy; two sisters: Susan C. Huneycutt of Asheboro, Marie C. Blankenship of Mt. Gilead; one brother: Junius R. "J.R." Clark, Jr. of Troy; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy; other times at the fellowship hall of Forks of Little River Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 pm at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee Star Rd., Troy with Rev. Bill Roy, Rev. Wayne Vuncannon and Rev. Clyde Comer, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or Baptist Children's Homes of NC, 101 National Hwy, Thomasville, NC 27360 Arrangements by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home.
