Frances Blue Thompson

Frances Blue Thompson, age 86, of 318 W. Chestnut St, Troy died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Thompson was born August 12, 1923 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter Charlie Clark and Bessie (Batten) Blue. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Troy, a retired employee of Capel., Inc. and a member of the Ladies VFW Auxillary #9881 of Biscoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Lee Thompson. Frances was a caring and loving person who enjoyed gardening and making fried applejacks for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by many. She is survived by two sons: Charles Thompson and wife, Linda of Troy, Gary Thompson and wife, Danese of Clayton; 3 grandchildren: John Thompson, Chad Thompson and Aaron Thompson; 5 great-grandchildren: Noah Thompson, Austin Thompson, McKenzie Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Heather Benson; 1 great-great-grandchild: Landon Benson. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at First Baptist Church, 401 E. Main St., Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Troy with Dr. Phillips McRae, Dr. James B. Gibson and Rev. Mark Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, S.
