David Christopher "Chris" Deaton, age 22, of 1880 NC Hwy 109S, Mt. Gilead died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, the result of a motor vehicle accident.Chris was born February 13, 1987 in Chapel Hill, NC, the son of David Nichols Deaton and Linda Kay (Johnson) Mathis. Chris was a Montgomery County native and a 2005 graduate of West Montgomery High School. He was an employee of Deaton's Auto Supply. He is survived by his father David Nichols Deaton and step-mother, Patricia Deaton of Troy; mother, Linda Kay (Johnson) Mathis of Thomasville; two sisters: Kerry Hood of Mt. Gilead, and Amanda Cartrette of Atlantic Beach; step-grandmother, Ruth Simpson of Troy.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of David and Patricia Deaton, 386 Atkins Dairy Rd., Troy. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 pm at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134 N, Troy with Rev. James Brewer and Rev. Jeff Ray officiating.
