Raymond Reginald Lucas

Raymond Reginald Lucas, age 92, of 3144 NC Hwy 109N, Troy died Monday, December 8, 2008 at his home.Mr. Lucas was born June 25, 1916 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of Leon and Ara Clodfelter Lucas Harris. Mr. Lucas was a member of Uwharrie United Methodist Church having served as Adult Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a lay speaker of the United Methodist Church and lay leader. He was a charter member of the West Montgomery Lions Club and also charter member of the Uwharrie Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Co. with 28 years of service and a US Army veteran.He is survived by his wife: Lois Saunders Lucas of the home; three daughters: Linda Parker of Canton, Sandra Gooch of Troy, Carolyn Baker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Uwharrie United Methodist Church, Hwy. 109 N., Troy with Rev. Jack Luther officiating.
