J. C. Morton

John Colombia J.C. Morton, age 79, of Asheboro died Monday, October 1, 2007 at his home. Mr. Morton was born April 12, 1928 at Stanly County, NC, the son of the late Frank and the late Morning (Lemons) Morton. He was a former employee of Klopman Mills and the owner and operator of JC Morton Garage. He is survived by his wife Hazel Epps Morton; two stepsons, Darrell Palmer and Gary Palmer, both of Asheboro; four sisters: Lottie Earnhardt and Josephine Morton, both of Uwharrie, Myrtle Morris of Asheboro and Sara Tyndall of Troy; three brothers: Foy Morton of Asheboro, Pink Morton and Jerry Lee Morton, both of Troy; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:30-3:00 pm at Pugh- Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Pugh- Troy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
