J. Paul Sedberry

Joseph Paul Sedberry, age 83, of 1257 Robedo Rd., Mt. Gilead died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Stanly Regional Medical Ctr., Albemarle. Mr. Sedberry was born June 30, 1924 at Mt. Gilead, NC, the son of the late John Franklin and the late Mattie (Poole) Sedberry. He was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church. He retired from NC DOT after 31 years of service and was also a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Thompson Sedberry. He was a kind and compassionate father and grandfather. He is survived by one daughter: Dianna S. Langston of Gillette, WY; three sons: Tony Sedberry and Danny Sedberry, both of Mt. Gilead, John Sedberry of Ft. Lawn, SC; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 8:30 pm at Pugh- Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Danny Sedberry, 1269 Robedo Rd., Mt. Gilead. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Rd, Candor with Pastor Larry Beaver and Rev. Wayne Vuncannon officiating. Burial will be in Sedberry Family Cemetery, Hallyburton Rd., Mt. Gilead, N.C. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 103, Troy, NC 27371 and Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N.
