James Allen Stoker, Sr., age 82, of Troy passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Mr. Stoker was born May 12, 1938 in Montgomery County, NC the son of the late Eslie Stoker and the late Grace Vanhoy Stoker.
Allen was an Army Veteran stationed in Germany. He volunteered with the Montgomery County Rescue Squad for 35 years. He was employed at Springs Industries as a Supervisor for over 40 years. He most recently worked for FirstHealth/Critical Care and Regional Transport. He was a very loving and giving Christian man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed camping in his spare time. He was a member and Deacon of Long Hill Baptist Church for many years.
He is survived by daughters: Kathy Saunders (Chuck) Candor, NC, Teresa Simmons (Lee) Mt. Gilead, NC, Tina Stoker Troy, NC; one son: James Stoker, Jr. (Heather) Troy, NC; grandchildren: Derrick, Cody, Candice, Shelley, Nicholas, Christopher, Garrett, Matthew, Bella and Diesel; great grandchildren: Alexis, Makayla, Zachary, Brantley, Madelynn, and Nicholas; brothers: Gerald Stoker (Joann), Bobby Stoker (Helen); sister: Rita Fann; two feline companions: Squirrel and Sweetpea. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sudie Stoker, brother Eugene Stoker, and sister Brenda Parsons.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Long Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 637 Capelsie Rd, Candor with Rev. Mark Forrest officiating.
