Peggy Deaton Wright

Peggy Deaton Wright, age 89, of Troy passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 9, 2021. Mrs. Wright was born on June 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Farley Deaton and Lanie Batten Deaton. She retired from Collins & Aikman having worked 25 years. She was a lifelong member of First Wesleyan Church. She loved cooking, baking cakes and wanted to make sure you were served correctly and were well pleased. She was a natural caregiver. She loved her family and her grandchildren. She read her Bible every day and knew her scripture. She was a prayer warrior. She is survived by one daughter: Evalane Wright Poole (Earle) of Troy, NC; one son: Melton Wright of Troy, NC; one sister: Carolyn D. Auman (Bobby) of Asheboro, NC; two granddaughters: Meredith and Monica Poole and two grandsons: Bradley and Tyler Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Wright. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134 N, Troy, NC. They also ask that masks be worn while in the church. A graveside service will follow in the First Wesleyan Church cemetery at 3:00 pm, with Dr. Ed Lindsey officiating.
