Jean Blake Staley, age 87, of Troy went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mrs. Staley was born in Montgomery County on August 17, 1933 the daughter of the late Ivey C. Blake and the late Margaret Decy Ragsdale.
Jean was owner and operator of Jean's Beauty Shop for over 60 years in the Love Joy community. She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting, basket weaving, cooking and gardening. She was a Christian lady, very devoted to her church and community. Jean was a member of Love Joy United Methodist Church, the UMC Women's Group and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She was also a past choir director for over 40 plus years.
Mrs. Staley is survived by two daughters: Sheila Staley of Lynchburg, VA and Janet Lee (Ronald) of Troy, NC; one brother: Don Blake (Shirley) of Troy, NC; one granddaughter: Tiffany Howell Jackson of Troy, NC; one great grandson, Mason Jackson. She also leaves behind her special Jack Russell terrier "Lady" whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Will Staley and two sisters: Joyce Maness and Loretta Britt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Arbor at Love Joy United Methodist Church, 1137 Substation Rd. Troy, NC from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Justin Wells and the Rev. Ron Scott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
