Josephine Morton

Troy - Josephine Morton, age 81, died Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. Miss Morton was born in Stanly County on September 16, 1938 to Frank and Morning Lemons Morton. She was a homemaker and was a member of Uwharrie United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Myrtle Morris and Mollie Klass and brothers, Tom Morton, J.C. Morton, A.L. Morton, and Jerry Morton. She is survived by her sisters, Lottie Earnhart of Troy and Sarah Tyndall of Troy; brothers, Foy Morton of Asheboro and Pink Morton of Troy; and several nieces and nephews. Her body will lie in state for viewing from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, and from 9:00 – 12:30 p.m., Friday, August 28, at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home in Troy. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, at Uwharrie United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3027 NC Hwy 109 North, Troy with Rev. William Saunders officiating.
