Shirley Jean Coltrane

Shirley Jean Coltrane, age 71, of New London passed over into her heavenly home on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Carolinas Healthcare System Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Coltrane was born on September 11, 1948 in Raeford, NC, the daughter of the late George Faircloth and Geneva McKeithan. She was employed for 30 years in the furniture business, operating her own business SJC Custom Upholstery prior to retirement. Shirley was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Troy, NC. She was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. First and foremost, Shirley loved the Lord. She was a constant witness for Him, not only in how she lived her life, but through her teachings and mentoring to anyone she met. Shirley was an example of a true Christian. She wanted everyone to know the love that she had for her Savior, but more importantly, she wanted everyone she met, to know they could have a relationship with Him too. She was truly a Godly woman, and a true soldier for Christ. She was a blessing to so many and will be truly missed here on earth, but what a celebration must be going on in heaven today. Shirley is survived by her husband: Jim Coltrane; daughter: Jennifer Rudisill (Scott) of Thomasville, NC; son: Brian Creech (Holly) of Wallburg, NC; step son: Jimmy Coltrane (Denise) of Lincolnton, NC; mother: Geneva McKeithan of Mt. Carmel, TN; sister: Faye Duggins (Gary) of Asheboro, NC; sister: Pat Sykes (Danny) of Mt. Carmel, TN; grandchildren: Connor, Hannah, and Hunter Creech, Benjamin Rudisill, and Ramsey and Reese Coltrane. Due to the guidelines during the COVID 19 virus, Shirley's body will lie in state at Pugh Troy Funeral Home Chapel, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial donations be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 103, Troy, NC, 27371.
