Obituary of Velvin Kelly
Velvin Kelly, age 94, of Troy died Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe.
Mrs. Kelly was born March 3, 1924 the daughter of the late Lee Blake and Nealie Chisholm Blake.
Mrs. Kelly was a native of Montgomery County and a member of First Wesleyan Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for Children Class for over 30 years. Velvin was great prayer warrior for others and always putting others interest before herself. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, Velvin was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Kelly; sisters: Pauline Dickens and Alma Minish; brother: Harvard Blake.
She is survived by son: Michael Kelly of Troy; daughter: Sue K. Ritchie and her husband, John of Troy; grandsons: Joseph Ritchie and (Louise) of Raleigh, Jacob Ritchie and his wife, Jenna of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 9, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Highway 134 North, Troy with Dr. Edward E. Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
